When I was interviewed on the radio

I used this shortcut to calm

Before the interview, my whole body was buzzing with nerves. I felt shaky inside and out. I wondered how I’d possibly pull it together to eloquently share about mini yoga on the air waves.

Left nostril breathing saved the day.

For thousands of years, yoga masters have taught that breathing through the left nostril helps to calm and soothe. Modern science confirms these teachings: breathing through the left nostril calms us down by stimulating the rest and digest nervous system.1

Here’s a practical guide to left nostril breath:

  1. Make sure your hands are fresh and clean.

  2. Practice with me at the top of the page.

  3. Share with a colleague, family member, or friend who would like to stress less.
