For those of you living in the northern hemisphere — the cold season is here. Some of us love it. Some of us have major resistance to it.
I used to fall into the latter camp, and I still don’t naturally love the cold. But during my last winter in New England, I decided to embrace it. And it payed off in unexpected, wonderful ways.
My invitation today is less intense than jumping into the northeast Atlantic ocean in February, but it could be way more powerful.
My invitation is to step outside and have a direct, curious experience with the cold. Can you let go of the resistance for a few moments and feel the sensation of wintry air on your skin? It might feel good. I know that you’ll feel alive. Practice with me at the top of the page.
P.S. I now live in San Francisco, and I’m well aware that the “cold” here doesn’t come close to the cold other places! But the heavy chill coming off the ocean gives me just as good practice as anywhere. However cold (or not) it is where you are, I hope you’ll join me for a mini practice at the top.
P.P.S. Looking for a way out of your intense stress cycle? I have two offerings designed to help you transform your experience with stress. For individuals, I offer the 1:1 Well All Day Program. For your team at work, I offer workshops on Building Stress Resilience.
